This winter

This winter has been one of the flatest (no waves) winter of all time for most of the east coast, and it sucks.  Well not everybody is suffering on the east coast. One good place to go surfing where you can almost always guarentee some good waves is Wilmington North Carolina.  The best part is, is that Wilmington is not that far of a drive from South Carolina.  So if your ever looking for some waves and can not find it right now in SC, Wilmington will be the way to go.

Mick Fanning

Mick Fanning is a Pro Surfer. Fanning won the asp world champion of 2009. Mick Fanning was 16 years old when his surfing career was taking off, at the same time his brother passed away in a car accident. His brother was also an aspiring Pro Surfer. After the death of his brother Mick stayed true to their dream of becoming a Pro Surfer and continued to rise as a Proffessional Surfer. In 2002 Mick Fanning finished in the top five of the asp world tour. In 2004 tragedy struck Mick Fanning again, while he was surfing he tore his hamstring off the bone. After six months of rehabilitation Mick Fanning was finally able to get back on a surfboard, and work his way back up in the Pro Surfing league.  In 2007 Mick Fanning beat Kelly Slater (nine time world champ in pro surfing) in the world title. Then in 2009 Mick Fanning won the asp world championship of surfing.  As of today Mick Fanning is an aspiring Pro Surfer and remains and icon to kids.
